I caught this program on Frontline the other night and the story is pretty amazing. It sounds like something they'd make up in the movies. You can watch the full program online.
Abdurahman describes himself as the "black sheep" of the Khadr family. He separated from his family following the Sept. 11 attacks and was captured by the Northern Alliance multiple times before being handed over to the U.S. in November 2001. Abdurahman says at that point he began working for the CIA, providing intelligence on Al Qaeda members and guesthouses in Kabul. He says the CIA asked him to go to Guantanamo to spy on the prison population there, and then to Bosnia to spy on suspected Al Qaeda members who were trying to join the resistance in Iraq.
Abdurahman says that it was when the CIA asked him to go undercover to Iraq with Al Qaeda fighters that he decided to quit and return to Canada, where he currently lives.
